With a shortage of football news these days, I thought it would be fun to read everyone's favorite Jets moments. As Jets fans we have had the highest of highs, and lowest of lows. Out of the storm that comes with being a Jets fan, there have been some great moments that will surely stick with use for a very long time.
My moment was caught on film in the picture above. I went to my 1st Jets game back in 2002 at Memorial Stadium, and it's been engrained in my head ever since. I was a jets fan long before this game, but no moment really stuck out as much as this one. In the final moments of the game, the Bears were up 20-13. We were driving down the field, but needed a big play to tie it up. We got our chance when Chrebet caught a pass from Pennington. He couldn't get out of bounds and did the only thing he could. The 5'10" Chrebet jumped higher than he probably ever has in his life. What was he jumping over? He was trying to hurdle the 6'2" Larry Whigham. Unfortunately, Chrebet didn't make it over, and wound up fumbling. We lost that game, but with that play Wayne Chrebet became my hero.
