Temple's defense gave up 44 less yards per game in Wilkerson's first year starting than it did the year before. The defense went from 81st ranked to 32nd ranked in the nation. Wilkerson ended his Temple career with 17.5 sacks and 26 tackles for a loss.
He attended Hargrave Military Academy for a year before enrolling at Temple to improve his grades.
He was Second Team All America and First Team All MAC (unanimously) his senior year and Second Team All MAC his junior year. This is in addition to being named the most underrated under tackle in the college game by the NFL Draft Report.
Like last year's first round pick, Kyle Wilson, Wilkerson is a Jersey guy from Linden.
