Braylon Edwards joined a radio station in Detroit yesterday to discuss many things. One of them was his impending free agency. Sports Radio Interviews has an excerpt.
"I wouldn’t mind ending up back with the Jets. I think we have a good chemistry and a good rapport and we’re building on something. I’m tired of things changing. With Cleveland it was always changing and even to get to the Jets it was ever changing, but now I see us having something and developing something and I would like to be a part of it. If it doesn’t go that way it’s football, it’s life, and things happen. Just a good situation. Just a situation where I don’t have to start from scratch like the Buffalo Bills or something."
It is funny that Santonio Holmes' comments a few days ago generated such a buzz and speculation he is leaving. Although Braylon's comments are more diplomatic, I essentially read him saying the same thing. He cannot say what circumstances will be. He might be back. He might not be. Edwards will not have to choose between winning and money. A good team in need of a receiver like Chicago might be willing to step up.
I can think of another team where he would make a lot of sense on paper. It is a team that needs a vertical threat at receiver to compliment its underneath targets and has a history of making move to tweak the Jets. I am talking about the Patriots.
