Tampa Bay was up today. The Bucs added Cameron Heyward, a defensive end from Ohio State. Heyward is the son of former NFL back Craig "Ironhead" Heyward.
I get the feeling this will be a popular pick. It certainly could happen. I am not sure how much I like the pick. I do like the player. I am not sure I love the fit in the system. Some people like Heyward as a 4-3 defensive end. I view him as more of a tackle in the 4-3. His game is based on strength. I am not convinced he can consistently win battles on the edge and close, which is what Tampa's one gap system asks its defensive linemen to do. He probably could not move inside since Tampa took two tackles early, although Brian Price battled injury for much of the year.
Good pick, though. Despite my reservations, this could certainly happen.
The Chiefs are up tomorrow morning. Let me know if you cannot make your pick.
