Don Banks: All Prospects Have Warts

SI's Don Banks has an excellent article discussing potential red flags on all top Draft prospects.

The day Andrew Luck announced he was going back to Stanford, the top of the 2011 NFL Draft became far less certain. The field is loaded with talented players, but they all have red flags.

I am not going to get into the specifics on players. While this article is worth a read, it got me thinking more than anything. There really is no such thing as a sure thing. Every guy has potential warts. There is no way to tell how guys will adjust to the NFL. Some guys might struggle to pick up NFL playbooks. Some might lose their work ethic once they get big contracts. Some might not fit specific positions. There are a million potential unknowns that could impact these players.

The reverse is true also. That is why there are undrafted players who become stars.

I guess the biggest point is that we all like certain players and do not like others. Just keep an open mind. None of us really knows.
