Will Joe McKnight's Role Increase in 2011?

Bart Hubbuch has key points of Rex Ryan's comments yesterday at an NFL coaches breakfast and says it was suggested.

-- Disappointing rookie Joe McKnight could be the Jets’ punt returner next season and have a prominent role in the offense;

This makes sense. McKnight worked his way into a bigger role as the year progressed. The team wants him to become a bigger part of the offense. Limiting LaDainian Tomlinson's touches would be best for LT, and an increased McKnight workload would help do that.

I am also interested in seeing McKnight out there on punt returns. Lately the Jets have seemed to like sticking guys back  there like Jim Leonhard and Jerricho Cotchery who mainly were sure bets to catch the football. Cotchery actually showed some good moves at times, but he was never really a homerun threat. I still would like to see Kyle Wilson get a chance. The rookie seemed to need better footwear because he looked close to popping big returns a number of times before his feet gave out.
