Our friend Brian Galliford has another mock draft first round up on the SB Nation main page. This time he has Gang Green ending up with a linebacker at 30.

30. New York Jets: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA. It's not inconceivable that Ayers falls this far; he's not great at any one thing, and linebackers slide down draft boards as a rule in April. 3-4 teams will like Ayers' versatility and upside as a pass rusher, and a talented team like the Jets can afford to take the time to coach him up a bit.

This would clearly be a case of the Jets going with need in the first round. Interestingly enough, the guy Galliford had the Jets taking last time, Jon Baldwin, would still be on the board at this point. I am interested to hear people's thoughts on that. Obviously, the team's ability to keep Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, and even Brad Smith would have a lot to do with that.

It is something to keep in mind when dealing with mock drafts this early in the process. A team's strategy will not really come into focus until free agency comes, and the Draft is the only way to fill needs. We are still really at the guessing point of the process. Things can and will move depending on how the first part of the offseason goes.
