Scouting the Draft: Allen Bailey, Part 1: Introduction

Allen Bailey came to the University of Miami as a linebacker. He appeared in every game his freshman year on special teams. He got 4 starts at defensive end in 2008, his sophomore season and finished with 5.5 sacks. He played a lot of tackle his junior year and ended the campaign with 7.5 sacks while making the All ACC First Team. He moved back to end his senior season and was Second Team All ACC, recording another 7 sacks. He ended his career with 33 tackles for a loss.

Bailey is very well built at 6'4" and 285 pounds. He was awarded the Strength Training Athlete of the Year Award by his team in both 2009 and 2010.

He is currently projected as a prospect at this point going off the board from the late first round to the early second round, although it is not clear how something of a rough Senior Bowl will affect his stock.
