Jason Taylor: Stay or Go? Part 1: Introduction

Jason Taylor spent much of his career as the one player in the league Jets fans hated over all others. Part of it was him spending 12 of his first 13 seasons with the hated Miami Dolphins. Part of it was due to his success on the field. The baseball player Reggie Jackson once noted, "They don't boo nobodies." Taylor was far from a nobody in Miami. He was a 6 time Pro Bowler and the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year.

More than anything were the unprovoked shots at Jets fans. He mocked our intelligence for having a signature chant that spells out the team's name. He made remarks about the fan base's social class. Watch NFL Films footage of the Monday Night Miracle, and you will get plenty of shots of Taylor trash talking Jets fans in the stands.

A year ago, however, the Dolphins showed no interest in bringing Taylor back to Miami. The Jets came calling. After a stretch of soul searching and perhaps hoping the Dolphins would have a chance of heart, Jason Taylor became a Jet.

Will the team have him back for the second year of his contract?
