Randy Moss is one of the most controversial figures in the NFL. His career has been highlighted by a series of highs and lows. Twice he has landed with a new team and immediately helped that team set an NFL season points record by emerging as a big play threat. He has been selected to seven Pro Bowls and four All Pro teams. He has five seasons with at least 15 touchdowns. He has five other seasons in excess of 10 touchdowns. He has gone over 1,000 receiving yards 10 times.
He also has an array of issues. Character concerns caused him to fall to the 21st pick in the 1998 NFL Draft despite arguably having more talent than anybody than Peyton Manning. He has left a team four times under bad circumstances. This includes his departures from New England and Minnesota in the past year alone. The one with the Vikings was notable for his immature actions insulting a team caterer. Moss is also notorious for not always playing hard. He quits on routes. He does not work hard blocking. He looks disinterested if he does not get the ball early in games. In one notable incident, he left the field before a game ended.
Moss is a controversial guy, which makes his free agency an interesting topic. The Jets could potentially be in the market for a receiver. Would they consider pulling the trigger?
