In news that cannot surprise anybody, Rex Ryan said last night he expects his team to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy next season.
"Last year I thought we'd win it; this year I know we'll win it," said Ryan, who was dressed in a Walt "Clyde" Frazier Knicks jersey and sat courtside near Yankees ace CC Sabathia and Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck.
....
"I hope the guarantee works better than last year," Ryan said.
And you can go ahead and cue the angry masses from rival fan bases upset that the Jets have a coach who sets the bar high in public for his team. It is this kind of thing that makes fans across the league hate this team and its head coach. I could not be happier about it. I do not want other fans to like my team. It means my team is really good and is a threat.
