Heading into last week's game against the Redskins, a lot of emphasis was put on the performances of Wayne Hunter and D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Washington had one elite pass rusher coming off the edge and a quality rookie rusher in Ryan Kerrigan. The Chiefs have a pass rusher even better than Orakpo in Tamba Hali. Hali might be the most underrated player in the league. He is right up there in the DeMarcus Ware class.
Across from him is rookie Justin Houston, a name you might remember from the Draft last year. Houston has had an up and down rookie year, but he is coming off a three sack outing against the Bears, the first three sacks of his career.
It seems like a good twist that Hali usually lines up against the other team's left tackle. That is D'Brickashaw Ferguson, who has the faith of Jets fans against anybody. The shakier Hunter will likely see time against Houston. As we have seen for much of the year, though, it seems possible the Chiefs will try and put their best against Hunter to avoid Ferguson. Wayne so far this year has been Jeckel and Hyde. He will need to have another big outing to keep Mark Sanchez clean.
