New York Jets' NFL Playoff Picture

As we head to the season's final week, the Jets' Playoff hopes are still alive but on life support. Here is what they need to get the six seed. There are two scenarios.

NY Jets clinch a wild card spot:

1) NYJ win + CIN loss + TEN loss or tie + OAK loss or tie

2) NYJ win + CIN loss + TEN loss or tie + DEN loss or tie

This would give the Jets the last Wild Card spot. The good news is that the Bengals are against a Baltimore team that will go all out trying to win the AFC North and a first round bye. The bad news is none of the other opponents for teams the Jets need to lose have much motivation. Tennessee is up against a Houston team locked into the three seed that will be preparing for a Wild Card Playoff game. Oakland and Denver get bad San Diego and Kansas City teams respectively that are just playing out the string. Perhaps most daunting, the Jets actually need to win, which might be the least likely outcome of the bunch at this point.
