Although it will not be official until next Tuesday at 7 p.m., and player and coach voting could still entirely undo it, The NFL released top fan vote winning players today. The top ten vote-getters were pretty much the usual suspects:

1. Aaron Rodgers. 2.Tom Brady 3. Drew Brees 4. Calvin Johnson 5. Wes Welker 6. LeSean McCoy 7. Rob Gronkowski 8. Ben "Level 3" Roethlisberger, 9. Adrian Peterson and 10. Mike Wallace of the Steelers (who just torpedoed one of my fantasy teams).

Beyond that, two names we know and love were the top vote winners at their positions in the AFC; Darrelle Revis (big surprise) at CB and Joe McKnight at KR (legitimate surprise but not shocking). Revis pulled down 561,898 votes, second only to DT Haltoli Ngata of the Ravens in the AFC. Charles Woodson pulled down over 760k for the NFC at the CB position. Joe McKnight got 140,926 votes. Only the AFC and NFC ST fan nominees got less votes out of the position winners.

Revis is guaranteed to go to Hawaii barring injury/Super Bowl run/lack of interest. McKnight could be filibustered by NFL players and coaches. Nothing against Joe, he earned his spot, but he's up there due to lack of a standout candidate in the conference. Not counting ball security and catching, any Jets returner was deserving of the arbitrary pro bowl nod.

Defense and special teams (and luck) are the reason we're still in it. Good to see a couple of our guys get the nod.
