Bart Scott's Can't Wait Grand Prix is Tonight

The MadBacker is hosting a charity event in Jersey City tonight. Regardless of how you feel about the team after last night's effort, this is a good cause and a chance to see some Jets players up close. Scheduled to appear along LB Bart Scott are QB Mark Sanchez, CB Antonio Cromartie and S Eric Smith. Other players have tweeted before that they may be appearing as well.

Here is the info from Pole Position Raceway:

On December 19th New York Jets starting linebacker, Bart Scott will host the first Can’t Wait ™ Grand Prix charity race fundraiser at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City, New Jersey. Indoor kart racing has become one of Scott’s favorite pastimes and this special charity event will bring together NFL players from the New York Jets and the New York Giants to compete against one another in head-to-head kart racing, as well as lucky fans for a great cause. Funds raised will go to "A Son Never Forgets Foundation" founded by Scott in 2006 which is dedicated to educating and encouraging those suffering from spinal cord injuries by providing valuable information and resources during rehabilitation.

The event’s special guest of honor will be former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand who suffered a severe spinal injury in 2010 during a game against Army. This past summer, fans and mainstream media alike discovered the connection between Scott and LeGrand by way of Twitter. Scott‘s Can’t Wait™ campaign supports LeGrand’s goal to walk again in the very near future.

The charity race and fundraising event will take place on Monday, December 19 from 6-11:00 PM. Tickets are available for spectators at $50 per person and will include food, drinks, music, and a "Meet & Greet" with NFL players.
