Jim Leonhard and Jemarko Simmons Placed on IR

It's been confirmed by the Jets that S Jim Leonhard has a torn patellar tendon and has been placed on injured reserve. The same goes for TE Jemarko Simmons, a practice squad player of whom we've heard nothing about all season, except that he apparently has a season ending lower back injury. The Jets haven't made any further moves yet to replace the two spots on the roster, but I will keep you updated when they do.

In addition, you may have heard that WR Derrick Mason was cut by the Houston Texans today, ending any hope of the Jets getting that coveted 7th round conditional pick in the draft. Crushing blow there.

John's already covered the loss of Leonhard, but I expect it to mean that Tracy Wilson and Brodney Pool will split reps in Leonhard's place. As for Simmons spot, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets grab another lineman to shore up the o-line depth, should Brandon Moore's injury get any worse (although he looked great this past game).
