The Jets control their own Playoff destiny after their win yesterday was coupled with losses by the Bengals, Titans, and Raiders. New York now sits at 8-5, a game ahead of those other three teams for the six seed.

The Jets trail the 10-3 Steelers for the fifth seed by two games and the 10-3 Patriots for the AFC East division lead by two games. New England can clinch the division title with either one win in its final three games or one Jets loss in their final three games.

If the season ended today, the Jets would play the third seeded Patriots in Foxborough in the first round of the NFL Playoffs, another shot to beat the bitter rival that swept them in the regular season. The Pats are tied with division leaders Houston and Baltimore for the conference's best record, but New England would finish with the third seed due to tiebreakers.
