LaDainian Tomlinson made a bit of history last night in a losing effort.
JET SETTER: New York Jets running back LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON totaled 60 yards from scrimmage (38 rushing, 22 receiving) in the Jets’ 37-16 loss to New England, surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer BARRY SANDERS for fifth place all-time.
In his 11-year career, Tomlinson has 18,206 scrimmage yards.
The fact that this is the biggest positive to come out of last night's fiasco speaks volumes. Congrats to LT no less. It is quite an accomplishment, even if like Ronnie Lott, Art Monk, and Brett Favre, he is only having a cup of coffee in green and white after establishing Hall of Fame credentials elsewhere.
Tomlinson trails Marshall Faulk by 948 yards for fourth on the list. Considering where we are at in the season, it seems unlikely he will reach it in 2011 or in a Jets uniform if he continues playing after this year.
