The bye week comes at a pretty good time for the Jets. Key contributors like Mike Devito and Nick Mangold along with role player Kenrick Ellis are banged up. The rest this week off will provide is going to benefit the team. Injuries tend to heal only with rest, but key players need to be out there whenever they feel up to it. Mangold is playing at less than 100% because he is better than anything the Jets have at center even playing hurt.
Looking ahead, the Jets will have some extra rest three games after the bye. A Thursday night game in Denver gives them a long week following it. These next few days are going to be very important, though. The CBA mandated four day break is going to give everybody a chance to get fresh.
The Jets team we see against the Bills in two weeks might end up as the healthiest Jets team we see the rest of the season.
