Jets Sign WR Eron Riley off Denver Practice Squad

In an interesting move, the Jets have signed WR Eron Riley off the Denver Broncos practice squad. By rule, they are required to sign him to the active roster, so he will be taking DT Martin Tevaseu's spot, who was waived yesterday. Riley had six catches in the preseason for a team-high 167 yards and two touchdowns.

I don't really know what to make of this move. Its not surprising in the sense that the Jets could use depth, but they are also expecting WR Logan Payne back in a week or two. Riley is a UDFA from 2009 out of Duke and hasn't done very much in ther NFL. He's 6'3" though, and 207 pounds, so I'm hoping the Jets use this opportunity to back away from Patrick Turner. Let us know in the comments below what you think of this puzzling move.

Update: The more I look at this kid, the more I like it. He can run a sub 4.3 40-yard dash, and can really go up and get it with a 40" vertical leap. Check out this highlight video and tell me you aren't excited about the possibilities. I know he's done nothing before the in the NFL, but as we can see with Aaron Maybin, sometimes all you need is a fresh start.
