New York Jets Accomplish Something for First Time in Over Four Decades

With last night's victory over the Colts, the Jets are in the final eight.

This is the second straight year the Jets are one of the last eight standing.

I did a bit of research. Do you want to know the last time the Jets were one of the last eight in back to back years? It was 1968 and 1969. Joe Namath was the quarterback, and Weeb Ewbank was the head coach. A man by the name of Buddy Ryan was an assistant coach on defense.

The Jets won Super Bowl III the first year and lost the next year to the Chiefs at home in the Divisional Playoffs.

Gang Green was in the AFL at the time so this run is somewhat more historic. It is the first time the Jets have done this in the NFL.
