I love Nnamdi Asomugha as a football player and would love to see him in green and white. I just do not see how it happens unless he is willing to take a discount to play in New York. Darrelle Revis would probably have to take a paycut to get him. I am of the school that I will believe athletes choosing something over money when I see it.

I do not think the Jets can justify giving Asomugha top dollar. Yes, any team could use him alongside Revis. However, the Jets can find another guy to do a reasonable imitation on number two receivers who are not as difficult to cover as number ones. They can save money and invest it elsewhere.

I think you would have to be crazy to not at least kick the tires, but I vote the Jets only get serious if Asomugha and Revis make it clear they are not chasing every last dollar and are willing find middle ground that would make sense for the team.
