The Day in Darrelle Revis News

A reporter from a  television station in Pittsburgh, KDKA, is the fourth major news outlet to say Darrelle Revis and the Jets are close on a contract. He says the deal is in the area of 10 years and $150 million, $65 million of which would be guaranteed. Revis grew up in the area and played his college ball at Pittsburgh, which indicates again the people reporting this are getting a different source than the Jets beat writers.

NFL Films President Steve Sabol says Revis will not appear in tonight's Hard Knocks. There is no reason to doubt Sabol. That means there will apparently be no live annoucement. The interview Darrelle did the other day is still a mystery.

Mark Cannizzaro takes the bold step of saying these reports are false.

So does Manish Mehta.

Woody Johnson says things are "status quo." That means things haven't changed. He's still not talking to the press about anything. Some in the media take that to mean the reports are false for some reason.

Cimini takes a more balanced look. He says his sources indicate there is nothing new to report but admits events might be taking place that he has not heard.
