I'm not sure if this has been covered but this is the first I'm hearing about it. According to an AP report published yesterday, Rex has signed a deal with Doubleday to publish a book, part autobiography and part football strategy
The book is set to be released in the spring of 2011 and Rex will get help writing the book from Don Yaeger, a former Sports Illustrated editor who has worked on several NFL books including Walter Payton's.
The VP of Doubleday spoke after obtaining the rights for American publication about the special qualities that Rex Ryan holds:
"has such a powerful and unique leadership style" and he expects the book "to demonstrate how you lead in certain circumstances."
The timing of the book means that it will hit the shelves shortly after the 2010-11 Superbowl, a game in which Rex hopes he will be involved. It's sure to be an excellent read, and for a man who is dyslexic, to tackle a piece of work of this magnitude is quite inspiring. Lets hope it doesn't distract him from his football duties.
