Today, Jets Nose Tackle Kris Jenkins took a significant step towards his recovery. He had previously been limited to individual work during OTA's, but today took it one step further.
The big guy, who always makes his presence on the field felt, injured his knee in mid-October in the crushing OT loss to Buffalo.
Manish Mehta, on top of things per usual, spoke with Big Jenks who shared some thoughts:
"They [his knees] feel like I’m 30," Jenkins said. "Honestly, I wish I could sit there and tell you I feel like I’m 21, but I don’t. But I do feel good for my age. ..I’m fine. And with this weight coming off, it’s just going to get better."
On his recovery:
"I’m doing what the trainers told me," Jenkins added. "I’ll take it a day at a time. I’ll just keep working to get it better. My knee feels stronger. That’s all I can be happy for."
Certainly a great sign for Jets fans. It seems as if Sanchez's and Jenkins' recoveries are coming along well. The best part about this story, is Jenkins attitude towards training camp. It seems he is very hungry to return to the pitch, which was reflected by this quote:
"I’m just happy to be back with my teammates and be able to get out there with the guys and participate."
Please take notes, #24. You could learn a bit from the big fella.
