Lito Sheppard To Vikings

Lito Sheppard has reached a one-year deal with Minnesota reportedly worth $2 Million.

Sheppard had a very short stint with GangGreen (one year), and spent a good chunk of it injured. It is important to note that he did, however, get the short end of the stick in the AFC Championship game by Rex. The questionable decision still leaves us asking "What if'" regarding his decision to start Dwight Lowery over the veteran. Although that's all in the past now.

The news came from ESPN's Adam Schefter:

On eve of draft, Minnesota makes a move. Free-agent CB Lito Sheppard signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

Lito was due a hefty roster bonus worth $10 million if he was to start the 2010-11 season as a Jet . Something he certainly didn't earn, with all the injuries rendering him unreliable. So Lito being released by the Jets was a surprise to no one.

So if he is gone, why should we care?

Because Lito will be coming to the new stadium wearing purple on October 11. On Monday night football.

Then you factor in the Brett Favre factor......
While his status for next season is still a question mark (as per usual) , we know Favre may still have one year left in the tank and return to QB the team.

I don't have any problem with Lito, he did everything he was asked and no one can question his work ethic. But to stick it to him, Favre (especially Favre) and Childress on primetime television (who I am not a fan of, personally).... well, that would create a damn enjoyable Monday night.
