Jets Lose Out on CFL Sacks Leader

CFL sacks leader Ricky Foley signed with the Seahawks.

BC Lions defensive end Ricky Foley, who is scheduled to become a CFL free agent on February 15, has agreed to terms with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.

The 6'2, 245-pound native of Courtice, Ontario led the CFL in sacks last season with 12, also recording 51 defensive tackles for the Lions.

Foley, who was a standout on York University's football team, was selected fourth overall by the Lions in the first round of the 2006 CFL Draft.

The Jets gave him a workout last week. That's a tough break. The Jets are limited in the offseason moves they can make. This was a chance to add a low risk player at a low price. He might have been able to beef up the pass rush.
