Jim Leonhard Postgame Press Conference

On Brad Smith’s end-around touchdown…

The whole atmosphere in the building just flipped once Brad made that run. That’s what he does. He’s so explosive and you know that you’ve got to get him touches because whenever he gets his hands on the ball that’s what can happen. Sometimes offensively it’s going to be a struggle for awhile, trying to figure things out and how the defense is attacking you, but Brad was that spark today.

On the matchup next Monday at New England…

This coming week is why you play this game. You play to be in big games like this. To both be 9-2 on Monday night, the NFL couldn’t have scripted it any better. Now it’s up to us to go out there and play a great game and get a victory. This is why you play the game of football. You don’t play to beat Cincinnati, you don’t play to beat anybody else, you want to play the best and see where you match up. It’s going to be a lot of fun. We’re going to take these next couple of days to recuperate and get our bodies and our minds back and be ready to go.

On the confidence of the team…

We just have a lot of confidence in each other. Knowing that we have been in almost as many situations as you could possibly be in during a season, and for the most part, found ways to win ball games. We’ve all been on teams where you play great and somehow find a way to lose, and this team is the complete opposite. We’ve went up and down at times, but we’ve always found ways to pull games out. That speaks volumes of the character of the guys on this team.
