On what it means to play on Thanksgiving…
This is my first opportunity (to play on Thanksgiving). Years of growing up, watching these Thanksgiving games were some of the best holidays. I remember sitting at home around Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. Now, (we have) that opportunity to be the entertainment. My family will be back in Texas watching me play, so it’s special. Even though it’s a short week, you realize these are special opportunities you get to play on Thanksgiving. You want to take every advantage you can.
On Mark Sanchez helping them to have comeback wins…
We always talk about being a balanced football team. People always associate us with a running football team (and say), "Oh, they can really run the football," but they never talk about our passing game. The balance we talk about is what you’re starting to see. If people are going to be playing us like they’ve been playing us, we have to be able to throw the ball for 300 plus yards, just so we can get people to play us a little more balanced so we can be effective in doing both. Every week, Mark has that confidence that he can do it week after week if we need him to. It just helps in the long run to know we can run it (and) we can throw it. Anything we need to do to win games, we can do it.
On Sanchez’s pass to Braylon Edwards in the fourth quarter…
Quite honestly, that’s one of the best throws I’ve seen live. Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, I’ve been around those guys for awhile, and that was one of the best throws in clutch time that I’ve seen. I think he’s proven that he is the quarterback that everybody thought he would be. He’s a guy that can become an elite quarterback in this league.
