Myth: "The Jets Don't Build Through the Draft"

One of the great myths rival fan bases love to spread is the theory the Jets aren't built to succeed over the long haul. The argument goes that because the team is active in free agency and in making trades, they aren't building through the Draft. The team is full of overpriced veterans, which will lead to cap hell and diminished play in a few years.

Anybody who actually follows the team knows this isn't true. Yesterday showed us how strong the core of the team is. Take a look at how some of the players selected in the Draft in the last half of the decade did for the Jets.

Mark Sanchez 12/15, 182 yards, 1 TD, 0 Int

Shonn Greene 21 carries, 135 yards, 1 TD

Dustin Keller 3 catches, 99 yards, 1 TD

Darrelle Revis 1 INT, held Chad Johnson to 2 catches, 28 yards

D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold 40% of offensive line that allowed no sacks and helped team run for 171 yards on a top ten run defense

I'd say that's not a bad foundation, wouldn't you?
