Shonn Greene left this morning's practice with an injury to his ankle.
Rookie running back Shonn Greene suffered an apparent right ankle injury after getting run over linebacker Kenwin Cummings during a 1-on-1 pass blocking drill in the first hour of Jets practice this morning. Greene fell to the ground and immediately grabbed his right ankle in pain. He stood up and tried to walk and jog it off. But Greene soon hobbled off the field.
Nobody can say for sure how the Thomas Jones or Leon Washington contract situations will play out. Walkouts seem unlikely, but Greene is the insurance. He has reportedly returned to practice, which seems to mean the injury was fortunately not serious.
