Brett Favre to Sign With the Minnesota Vikings

Brett Favre is unretiring again:

A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

Favre, 39, arrived in Minnesota on Tuesday to meet with the Vikings, getting off a team plane at a small St. Paul airport and getting into an SUV after shaking hands with the ground crew.

Since God hates the Jets, it's time to run to Vegas and bet big on the Vikings to win the Super Bowl. Favre looked washed up for the Jets so go ahead and pencil him in for an MVP season.

In all seriousness, I think this is a good move for the Vikings. They have the running game and defense to use Favre the way the Jets should have used him. He'll only have to put the ball up like 20 times per game to avoid wearing down. He can't be a dominant player for an entire season, but he can pull a single game out on his own like the Jets' win at New England a year ago. The only thing you have to wonder is whether the Vikings' locker room will welcome him after the production Favre has put them through.

I said back when the Jets cut Brett to make him a free agent it was a bad move. Can anybody doubt it now? If the Jets hold onto Brett, he never has the chance to go to Minnesota. He sees Mark Sanchez is in place, realizes he'll have no chance to play, and goes on with his life. Football fans everywhere are saved from this never-ending soap opera.
