Leon Washington apparently will not hold out. He has arrived at training camp.
New York Jets running back Leon Washington reported to the team Friday and was on the field for the first practice of training camp.Washington was a no-show when the rest of the team checked into the players' dormitory Thursday because of a contract dispute in which he's seeking a big raise.
Take your pick. This means one of two things. It's possiblethey're making enough progress that Leon thinks a deal will get done without a holdout. He also might think no contract will get done, and the $17,000 per day fine for skipping camp is too hefty for a running back with a $535,000 salary this year. Given how vocal Leon and his agent have been about getting a new contract, I'm inclined to think it's the former.
