The Colts have resigned cornerback Kelvin Hayden at a substantial price.
Colts re-signed CB Kelvin Hayden to a five-year, $43 million contract. The deal includes $22.5 million in guarantees.
What does this have to do with the Jets? It sets the market for the second tier of cornerbacks. Guys like Nnamdi Asomugha will always get crazy money. With Darrelle Revis around, landing another number one corner would be a luxury, not a necessity. Given the state of the economy, one might have thought adequate starters on the market could come at bargain prices. If this contract is any indication, that will not be the case.
