The Jets have resigned wide receiver and special teams ace Wallace Wright for another season.
Wright has been one of the best special teamers in the league for the past three years after the Jets picked him up as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina.
It would not be an exaggeration by any means to say Wright's work on special teams coverage has been Pro Bowl caliber in his three seasons. Arguably the best tackler on the roster is a wide receiver. The real question is whether he can make an impact in the passing game. A new coaching staff means a fresh start. David Clowney will be difficult to beat for the fifth receiver spot (assuming Coles, Cotchery, Stuckey, and Keller are the top four), but the opportunity is there.
Only time will tell whether this will be the end of the team's courtship of Kelley Washington, a virtually identical player.
