David Harris will miss two to three weeks after undergoing groin surgery. He sustained the injury a couple of weeks back against Kansas City.
Harris, who leads the Jets with 52 tackles in his second season, had a procedure Wednesday to repair the injury, the Daily News and Star-Ledger of Newark reported Thursday.
David Bowens will start in his place. He has been solid against the run and as a blitzer, but the Bills smoked him last week when David dropped into pass coverage. As an outside linebacker and defensive end for most of his career, he is learning that aspect of the game on the fly. Gang Green should be able to handle the Rams without a problem, but Harris' presence will be sorely missed next Thursday in Foxborough.
