Jesse Chatman will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury on Sunday against the Chiefs.
Chatman injured his left knee during a kickoff return in the fourth quarter. He was blocking on the play.
``It doesn't look good,'' said coach Eric Mangini today.
Thus likely ends the Jets career of the third string running back who was suspended the first four games of the year because of a substance abuse violation. This signing will go down with Jay Fielder and Derrick Blaylock as complete wastes of cap space. Chatman was supposed to provide depth and a guy who could get tough yards in short yardage situations. All he has provided the club is an extra spectator, not that the injury is his fault.
