Last April many observers believed Vernon Gholston and Darren McFadden would end up on the Jets and the Raiders. It would come down to whom Oakland selected. Gang Green would choose the other. It turned out that way. When Al Davis took McFadden at 4, the Jets wound up with Gholston at 6. Some insiders say that had the Raiders selected Gholston, Eric Mangini and Mike Tannenbaum would have taken a player they coveted in McFadden.
Six weeks into the regular season, Gholston is struggling to get onto the field, let alone make an impact. He certainly has plenty of time to turn things around. However, to get a barometer of where things stand now, let us assume the Jets are back on the clock with the 6th selection. Who would you choose?
