Miami Dolphins at New York Jets Game Thread

Today the Jets sit in a very similar position to the one they were in three weeks ago. They can finish off the Miami Dolphins. If the Jets take this one, it's going to be very difficult for Miami to recover from a 2-5 start. A win and they are right back in the division race. They'll own the head to head tiebreaker over the Jets, and New York's division record will be 1-3. It's time to end this two game winning streak the Dolphins have and reassert our dominance in this rivalry.

SQUISH THE FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New York Jets at Oakland Raiders Game Thread

A year ago, West Coast trips derailed the season. The Jets have a chance today to put those demons behind them and use a cross country trip to get their season back on track. There's no such thing as a must win game this early in the year. There's plenty of time to turn this thing around. With that said, not banking a win here would hurt a lot.

Buffalo Bills At New York Jets Game Thread

Update: Inactive:

WRs Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith, CBs Donald Strickland and Marquice Cole, LB Ryan Fowler, and OL Matt Slauso, QB Kevin O'Connell and Eric Ainge

This is a really big game early in the season. It's time to put this losing streak in the past and pound a lousy opponent at home. That's what a good team would do. A loss here would be a sign we're looking at a very inconsistent year. Leave your thoughts below.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins Game Thread

The Jets have a chance to bounce back from their first loss of the year in front of the nation tonight. They're the better team on paper, but divisional road games on Monday Night are never easy.

With that said, this is a game a good team should win. The Jets present the Dolphins with a lot of matchup problems, especially with their vaunted defense. These guys have shut down Tom Brady and Drew Brees. It's time to tee off on Chad Henne.

It's time to add another chapter to the decade long domination of Miami.

New York Jets at New Orleans Saints Game Thread

What a difference four years makes.

That was the last time the Jets faced the Saints. They were two of the worst teams in the league and played in one of the most unwatchable games in NFL history in primetime the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The ESPN crew covering that game made it out to be the 1972 Dolphins against the 1985 Bears.

This game might not have quite those historic tones, but it's a matchup of an elite offense against an elite defense. The winner may rate at the top of most power rankings next week and establish themselves as the Super Bowl favorite.

It will be a tough one for the Jets. This is the toughest challenge they've faced so far, and that dome is a tough place to play. They're due for a bad game. Plus, how could you be upset with 3-1? I would have signed up for that at the start of the season.

With that said, they've got a much better shot than a lot of people are willing to admit, and this game could show us this is not just going to be a good season. It could be a special one.

...........................................................................

A chance to start 3-0 for the first time since 2004.

Bad weather.

Potential letdown game.

Playing against a team called the Titans in throwback Titans of New York uniforms.

New England Patriots at New York Jets Game Thread

Inactives:

QB Erik Ainge

DT Howard Green

TE Matthew Mulligan

OG Matthew Slauson

DE Mike DeVito

DL Ropati Pitoitua

LB Ryan Fowler

Kevin O'Connell is the third quarterback this week, perhaps a reward for giving the Jets information this week.

............................................................

Another 1-0 start.

Another home opener against the Pats.

First place on the line once again.

Sound familiar? It happened in 2006 and 2008. New England won both times. The Jets also got blown out at home by New England in Week 1 of 2007.

Can the Jets finally assert themselves early as contenders in the division?

Jets vs Texans preview

SBN Texans Blog: Battle Red Blog

Inactives:

CB Drew Coleman
CB Marquice Cole
LB Ryan Fowler
RB Shonn Greene
TE Matthew Mulligan
QB Kevin O’Connell
G Matt Slauson

No surprises here. Greene has a rib injury. The rest are the bottom of the roster. Erik Ainge is the third quarterback over Kevin O'Connell if for no other reason than Ainge actually knows the system.

Here we go.

It's been over 8 long months since that bitter December night in the Meadowlands.

The Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan Eras begin. This is the first step to finding out whether this is the coach-quarterback combo to take us to the promised land.

This is a pretty important game. The next three weeks see home games against New England and Tennessee and a trip to New Orleans. The Jets need to take care of a beatable opponent.

New York Jets at New York Giants Game Thread

It's the shortest road trip in sports! The Jets play a road game on their home field tonight against the Giants, the annual preseason game for bragging rights. That is bragging rights over which team has better third and fourth stringers.

It's another chance for Mark Sanchez to face a tough pass rush. It's also the last chance for the starters to get real game reps before the regular season since they'll be pulled early next week to rest up for the Houston game.

Discuss the game below.
