Antonio Allen being carted off now. He had burst out of his stance and fell to the ground. Doesn't look good at all. #Jets

Bowles says initial reports on Antonio Allen's late-practice injury is an Achilles. Severity very much unknown.

Hopefully it isn't as bad as it sounds. This is very sad news for Allen in what was many ways a make or break season. He has been bounced around by the team from his benching when Ed Reed was signed in 2013 to his position change to cornerback and back to safety last year.
It seems like Allen would have a shot to carve out a role with a coach inTodd Bowles capable of fitting tweeners into his defense. Bowles had been offering Allen some praise.
All we can do is hope for the best.
