Mocker Futher!!

I hate mock drafts. So I started a series in protest. The other day I ran through my favorite WR prospects. This time I'm gonna look at some linebackers. I will list them in no particular order. In fact, I'm gonna start with the guy I like the least just so I can get it out of the way.

Denzel Perryman -- I don't get it with this guy. He seems to be widely regarded as the best backer in the class, but I don't see it. He's got good size (6-0, 240) and he's decently athletic. But I like inside backers with instincts. Guys that can sniff out plays like a bloodhound and knife their way to the ball to make a tackle in the backfield. I find Perryman to too often be slow to react and late to arrive. A big no-no for linebackers. Perryman is like... whatevs.

Eric Kendricks -- this is my guy. He smallish at 6-0, 230. But he hits with thunder. Dude chips paint. He's very mobile and can cover a lot of ground. Has good instincts and can sniff out plays before they get started, and he has a knack for making plays. He's active and aggressive and always seems to find himself around the ball.

Paul Dawson -- plays with speed and aggression. Frenetic and athletic. Has trouble disengaging from OLs, but he has instincts and he flows fast. At 6-2, 230 he's a little light in the tush, but he makes up for it with speed and hyperactivity. He'd be a great fit for a blitzing Bowles defense. Especially with a D-line like ours commanding attention in front of him.

Benardrick Mckinney -- dude's tall as a tower. I like more as a 3-4 OLB than as an inside backer. At 6-5, 250 he's the perfect size to be an edge setter. But he'd be an edge setter with legit linebacking skill. I like him in a Calvin Pace type role, stuffing the run and dropping into coverage. I think he would be dynamic as an edge backer with true skills. He has good instincts and hits like a murderer.
