Hi everyone, I randomly decided to make a 53 man roster consisting of AFC East players. My mindset would be to only think about the upcoming season (so I’m not picking younger players over older guys for the future). Below is the team:
QB: Tom Brady, Ryan Tannehill, Geno Smith
WR: Eric Decker, Mike Wallace, Julian Edelman, Brian Hartline, Sammy Watkins
TE: Rob Gronkowski, Charles Clay, Scott Chandler
LT: Nate Solder, Branden Albert
LG: Logan Mankins
RG: Kraig Urbik, Willie Colon
RT: Sebastian Vollmer, Breno Giacomini
ILB: Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, David Harris, Koa Misi
S: Devin McCourty, Reshad Jones, Louis Delmas, Calvin Pryor
LS: Tanner Purdum
KR: Sammy Watkins
PR: Julian Edelman
I cheated a little by putting Mario Williams back at OLB because the AFC East has a really strong D-Line and a relatively weak LB crew. While the Jets were close to having the most players on the roster, many of them would not be starters while New England would have several.
I tried my best to make it as non-biased as possible (minus the Purdum pick because I know nothing about long snappers) but I’m sure some of you can make good arguments for why a player should/shouldn’t be on this roster. Let me know what you think!
