I have never posted to this site before and I sure hope I am not rattling any cages with this post as I thoroughly enjoy reading about my beloved Jets from fans whom I respect, but I was just too intrigued by this not to share it. Personally, I have a strong distaste for Rich Cimini as a Jets beat writer. I do not mind people criticizing the Jets. Heck, I could not listen to or watch a single sports show if I was unable to handle criticism about my team, but I truly feel that Rich Cimini (deep down in that black heart of his) loathes the Jets.
To some extent I want a beat writer to be able to ask the tough questions and report on the truth. What I do not want is to hear harsh, unfounded and unrelated criticisms on EVERY story EVER written by that beat writer, providing fodder for trolls and Pats fans. What does a "Top Five Training Camp Stories" article have anything to do with the 'Butt Fumble?' How many times can one person regurgitate the same exact negative story and spin into every single thing they write? How many licks does it... wait, let me get back on track here.
I realize that this is wishful thinking and that his "Cimininess" will likely continue to exist in our Jets Nation, haunting our dreams of a Lombardi trophy like Freddy Krueger haunts the dreams of hormone-fueled high school students. I too can dream, however and my dream is that ESPN can provide Jets fans with a beat reporter that actually likes the team and the fans. For that reason I have signed and am sharing with you a petition to remove that cankerous hack from his keyboard and to banish him back to the Foxborough hole from which he came.
