Everyone knows the Jets have a hole at WR, and many people expect them to take one at #18, and if not then in round 2, or even round 3...but what if they don't take one? Personally, i think it would be surprising, but would not be upset to see it happen (and watch the media rip the jets like always). This years WR class is known to be very deep, so waiting until the 4th round would not be as bad as people imagine. Also, this team has more to address than just WR.
What of Idzik decided to think in a 2 year view? Next years WR free agent class is loaded. Granted they won't all hit free agency, some will, and we will have the room to add one. Here is a list of them. http://overthecap.com/freeagents.php?Position=WR&Year=2015 . There are plenty if great options there to place across from Decker. (Also i think Hill is going to break out this year).
So if they did this what could the draft look like?
Round 1: Cornerback or saftey ( or even guard)
If a guy like Taylor Lewan fell to us, i wouldn't be shocked but most likely wont so lets say they surprise us with a guard and take Xavier Sua Filo.
Round 2: Jace Amaro (TE)
Round 3: Pierre Desir (CB)
And then in round 4 grab a wr: Jared Abbrederis, WR or Paul Richardson
This may not be the route that everyone sees the jets taking, but I think it would be interesting. So let me know what you guys think.
