In the Jets' first three picks of the 2014 NFL draft, the Jets selected three players they had met with prior to the draft. In 2013, five of the Jets' seven selections were players the Jets had met with prior to the draft. That makes 8 of 10 players selected in the Idzik era that were players the Jets met with prior to the draft. It is beginning to become apparent that Idzik strongly prefers meeting with the players he ends up drafting.
Here is a list of all the players still available with whom the Jets have met. If history is any guide, most of the remaining Jets selections will come from this list:

Given the above list, the remaining rounds might shape up something like this:
Round 4 (pick 3): Tom Savage, Zach Mettenberger, Martavis Bryant, Dakota Dozier, Gabe Ikard, Keith McGill, Pierre Desir, Rashaad Reynolds. If we assume the Jets won't be doubling up in Round 4, then it looks like the picks may include 3 of the following four positions: quarterback, wide receiver, offensive line and cornerback.
Round 5 (pick 1): Logan Thomas, Gabe Ikard, Michael Sam, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Larry Webster. It looks like the most likely pick here is a defensive end/outside linebacker.
Round 6 (pick 4): Logan Thomas, Ladarius Perkins, Matt Hazel, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Prince Shembo. It looks like a good bet the Jets will be doubling up on pass rushers during rounds 5 and 6.
Round 7 (pick 1): Tajh Boyd, Ladarius Perkins, Ryan Groy, James Stone, Bene Benwikere, Carrington Byndom, Tyler Starr, Steele Devitto.
Of course all the above rounds are extremely fluid, as in the later rounds teams become widely divergent in how they value prospects. Nonetheless, a few general ideas can be gleaned here. First, the chances of selecting one or more linebackers, particularly in rounds 5 and/or 6, appear to be pretty strong. Second, a quarterback and a cornerback are pretty likely sometime during day three. Third, an offensive lineman is likely, and there is a pretty good chance of landing a guard and a center. Fourth, if the Jets don't take Martavis Bryant in the fourth round, it appears their only other likely choice at wide reciever is Matt Hazel. Those who wanted significant upgrades at the wide receiver position in the deepest wide receiver crop in memory appear headed for disappointment.
What do you think the Jets will do in Day three?
