7 round Mock Draft 12 selections.

Round 1) 18th selection: Odell Beckham Jr WR LSU

I have been going back and fourth with this selection for quite sometime now, and with each passing day, I still can’t find a player I love at this spot. Odell Beckham Jr is whom my gut is telling me to go with. Beckham Jr would add his explosiveness to a group that’s in desperate need of it.

Round 2) 49th selection: DeMarcus Lawrence DE/OLB Boise State

Demarcus Lawrence is a player that I loved watching on tape. He is an explosive player that knows how to get to the Quaterback. Lawrence would finally give the Jets a pass rusher from the Outside Linebacker position that they have needed for quite some time.

Round 3) 80th selection: Jaylen Watkins CB Florida: The Jets have cut ties with Antonio Cromartie this off-season. Now there is a hole at the position opposite Dee Milliner. As we saw last season there is a learning curve that comes with the position especially in Rex’s system.

Round 4 104th selection: Dri Archer Rb/Wr Kent State: Who needs playmakers on the offensive side of the football more then the New York Jets.

Round 4 115th selection: Kenny Ladler S Vandy: Jets safeties played well last season, but I don’t believe Reed will return so they could use another. Ladler is terrific in the run game, and we all know Ryan loves to use his safeties in the box.

Round 4 137th selection: Crockett Gilmore TE Colorado State: Gilmore is one of my sleepers; he is a big target that can catch the ball well and is a willing blocker. The Jets need to find another Tight End opposite Cumberland and if they don’t address in the first couple of rounds. Gilmore can be an option here.

Round 5 154th selection: Russell Bodine OG North Carolina: The Jets should use these later rounds to add more depth to Offensive Line. Good athlete that can get to the second level and finish blocks.

Round 6 195th selection: Max Bullough LB Michigan State : The Jets could use another linebacker to provide some depth to the position. Bullough showed great leadership in his time at Michigan State.

Round 6 209th selection: Cody Hoffman WR BYU: Hoffman is another one of my sleepers that I believe doesn’t get enough attention. Hoffman is tall receiver that can help in the Red zone.

Round 6 210th selection: David Fales QB San Diego St. I have a feeling the Jets will select a QB late in this draft; Fales has good accuracy in the short to immediate game and could be a solid backup in the future.

Round 6 213th selection: Marion Grice RB Arizona State: Living in Arizona has given me the chance to watch Grice on several occasions, and I truly liked what I saw up until he was injured. Grice has a knack for finding the end zone and is a terrific pass catcher.

Round 7 Aaron Colvin 233th selection CB Oklahoma: Before Colvin injury he was a top 100 player. I think the Jets would be smart to take a chance on him with a 7th round pick. Jets could get a steal if he can fully recover from the knee injury.

I don’t believe the Jets will use all 12 of the draft picks, and can defiantly be players in trying to move up for players that they really like. I like this draft because it gives the Jets instant starters with players like ODB and Lawrence, but it also a draft that provides depth. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens comes May 8th. What do you guys thinks?
