Mo for Mack? Faster than a Fly can Fart!

So the Cleveland Browns are sitting there at #4. They have a brand spankin new head coach (Mike Pettine), and a dire need for a QB. Or do they? I mean, Brian Hoyer was lookin pretty dang good before getting injured. The current crop of QBs coming out are no doubt talented, but not a one of 'em seem like sure shot. Do the Browns really want to invest a #4 overall on one of these guys? Do they really wanna just throw the sneakers on the wire with Hoyer? I don't know... I can see how they'd rather not be in the position to have to make that choice. Do they really take an OLB at #4 either? I mean they just drafted Mingo and Sheard. They just gave Kruger a lucrative 5 yr deal. Do they really wanna take Mack, or would they rather not be in the position to have to do that?

What if we offered Mo and our #18 for their #4 spot? Wouldn't that not all but bail them out of having to make very difficult decisions? Wouldn't it help them avoid getting any egg on their face whatsoever?

Listen... I love Mo. Mo is a wonderful player. And if anybody understands and appreciates Mo, its Pettine. Mo alongside Taylor with Mingo and Kruger/Sheard on the edges is an extremely formidable and dynamic front. Extremely. The Browns would significantly upgrade their team and STILL get a #18 overall to tack onto that. But the Jets would win too.

Coples could easily slide back down to DE. Coples, the man athletic enough to get by at OLB, would slide back down to DE. Let me ask you a question... could Wilkerson pull off playing OLB? I don't think so. In fact, I think Wilkerson would look comically out of place out there. Coples was by no means a good OLB. Heck, he wasn't even average for most of the season. But he was athletic enough to pull it off, wasn't he? He was athletic enough to have people all like, "yeah but he was injured early in the season and came on towards the end; he'll be good next year." He was athletic enough to make whether or not he could play OLB and argument worth having. Kick that athleticism back down to DE. Dude will be a stud. Put Khalil Mack outside his shoulder... Good Lawd!!

Sometimes the stars align and everything is perfect. This is one of those times. Its not time for irrational fan attachment. Its time for doing the obvious and everybody getting rich. Mack is that talented. He's that good. Especially in this system, with these players around him (Sheldon, Snacks, Coples, Kenrick, etc). Its right there to be had and it makes perfect sense for everyone. Mo for Mack... do it. Do it!!
