Pretty self-explanatory. Let's hear some of your bold draft predictions and then I'll dig this thread up after the draft and gloat about how 100% accurate I was while everyone else hangs their head in shame and I am crowned King of GGN Predictions and Almighty Seer of The Future. Also, money.
Prediction 1: The Jets will not draft a WR or TE in the first round, let alone back-to-back in rounds 1 and 2 as many analysts and fans predict. I've had this hunch for a long time and the more I look at the prospects that will likely be there at #18 and the depth of WR in this class, I just can't see us doing it. Plus, I think once Watkins and Evans go (and I'm totally one of those guys who thinks Evans will go before our pick) there is a decent, though not huge, drop-off in WR talent compared to the other prospects anticipated to be remaining. To put it simply, this is just flat out a really great draft class (except for QB) and I'm betting our pick reflects that with someone who isn't a receiver. Also, anyone who read my thread a couple months ago knows how I feel about first-round TE's. For those that don't know, I'm on a strict once-in-a-blue-moon first round TE diet and the moon will most definitely not be blue on this draft night.
Prediction 2: The Jets will make a trade for a CB on or before one of the draft nights, using 1 or more draft picks to do so. I've got the sneaking suspicion that Patterson was not brought in to start uncontested. It's possible we draft a high round cornerback, but I'm guessing not. I think the more likely route is that we draft a mid-rounder and trade for another CB from another team and go into camp with a 3-way competition for the starting role.
Prediction 3: The Oakland Raiders will draft a player that will one day represent them in the Pro Bowl. I know, of all the nutty, out-there predictions I could possibly make, this is the most far-fetched. But, the eye sees what it sees!
So what are some of your predictions?
