In every draft there's usually only a handful of guys that have the talent to change the course of a franchise. Guys that if they reach their pinnacle, can be so thoroughly dominant that they become the wind that lifts all sails. Or guys that if found in the right situation could help change everything.
Who's your 5, and what's their ideal landing spot?
My list:
1) Jadeveon Clowney, Houston Texans: Clowney is going to be great. There's no doubt about it. He's the first guy in a long time that we all could see coming a mile away. Clowney and JJ Watt lining up side-by-side is so disgustingly unfair that it HAS to happen. It will be so overwhelming for their opponents that they won't be able to function.
2) Khalil Mack, New York Jets: The Lion is talented enough that you really have to think about whether you would really take Clowney ahead of him. If Mack landed in an aggressive defense that was versatile and multiple, and had three young studs to garner all kinds of attention across the defensive line, it would be ideal to say the least. Mack in Rex's defense... with Mo, Hog and Coples... Holy Crap.
3) Sammy Watkins, Atlanta Falcons: Holy Crap, again!! Roddy White, Julio Jones AND freakin Sammy Watkins. So overwhelming. So could happen. So wanna see it.
4) Johnny "Football" Manziel, Philadelphia Eagles: Chip Kelly's offense is a pain in the ass all by itself. Johnny Football in that offense multiplies the pain-in-the-assedness by google (the number).
5) Brandin Cooks, New England Patriots: People seem afraid that Brady is gonna somehow get Ebron or Amaro. Eff all that. The last guy I want as a Tom Brady option is Cooks. Brady loves the shallow game, what with the quick screens and the quick slants and all that jazz... the LAST freakin guy I want to see in those situations is Cooks (who was born to play that way).
So whose your franchise game changers?
