So Smackdad got me all salivating over big backs with his Running Angry piece. And it got me thinking... I want me some big ol' angry backs. I don't know about you, but part of the attraction of football for me is the sanctioned violence. And if there ever was a truth spoken, nothing is more truthful than the fact that these two dudes are very violent. They're like the shogun's decapitators. Its like their brains are infected by devils. 270 lbs fullback JC Copeland destroys whatever he contacts. 230 lbs Andre Williams runs at and through whatever meets him in his path. They lob off heads and keep moving straight ahead forward. They don't veer from the path for fear of the werewolf. They ARE the werewolf, and they're on the path hunting for humans. They love the path. They want you right on track so they can lob off your head.
What I love about Andre Williams is that he seems to get stronger as the game goes along. In every piece of footage I see of him, it starts off with the defense getting the better of him and getting all excited about it, and thumping their chests over making a simple play. But as the game wears on, you can see Williams gaining strength and the defense wilting. After a bit Williams starts running straight at them, knowing that they don't want none. He runs like he's throwing punches. LBs and DBs, after a while, seem to start to "brace tackle." A brace-tackle happens when you know a dude is gonna plow you over if you don't protect yourself, so you get guys trying to make a tackle while avoiding contact at the same time. Tackling without contact are two absolutes that cannot coexist simultaneously. You cannot tackle and avoid contact at the same time. It would defy the laws of physics. Ask Earl.
What I love about JC Copeland is that whatever he hits, it moves out of the way. What better way is there to get a back going that nobody wants to tackle than to give him a 270 lbs fullback that nobody wants to be bothered with? It makes nothing but sense to acquire a Andre Williams with a JC Copeland blocking for him. Imagine JC Copeland wreckin ish for Ivory. Who would wanna deal with that nightmare? Copeland blocking for that total psycho Ivory with a well-rested Williams coming in to spell him is an off-the-charts good idea. Couple all that interior power with Michael Vick attacking the edge and now we're stirring stew. Now we're decapitating fools for pure entertainment purposes. .
